The Road
Strange Houses

Strange indeed. Overall it was pretty interesting, a real page turner for me. I finished it in one sitting. Pretty solid overall, made me feel uneasy at times. Uketsu's way of writing was pretty cool, and I liked the almost play-like structure to the dialogue. The illustrations of the house floor plans was a nice touch. I enjoyed it a lot, great for a reading slump if you like mysteries.

Cultish

This one got me out of a serious reading slump, hooooly shit. Super interesting, and Montell's writing style feels so genuine, kind of like talking to a friend. Subject matter is always interesting, but I loved the deep dive into the language cults use to lure people in and keep them there. Loved loved loved it!

This one was such an amazing read. Cormac McCarthy is one of my favorite authors, and I believe this is one of his best works. It is so unsettling, there was this permanent sense of unease I felt while reading this book that just had me on edge. McCarthy's unique writing style made a huge impact on that I think.

While I doubt this and McCarthy's other works are everyone's cup of tea, it sure is mine, and I loved this book.

The Bell Jar

Pretty solid modern classic. I read this book while having just come out of a manic episode, so the subject matter was kind of relevant to me. I found it relatable, as messed up as that sounds, but I think that that contributed to my enjoyment of the book.

I think Plath was an amazing author, and I think this one is a pretty good read.

My Year of Rest and Relaxation

This one was strange. Like, not in a bad way. but it was strange. It's an interesting premise, and I understand why there was such a big hype over this book.

I liked this book overall, but it left me feeling strange in a way I can't quite describe.

The Alchemist

One of my all time favorite books. Hands down.

This book was a short read, but it left me with a completely profound feeling. It felt like something unlocked in me, even though the message is really simple.

I wish I had more to say on this, but I think its best to just read it, or listen to it, or anything! Just experience this book for yourself.
